"Learned a new word today- atom bomb. It was like a white light in the sky- like God taking a photograph. I saw it."

The Schooner

The origin of the name probably came from the Scottish word schoon which means to skim along the water. The first written record of the word schooner can be found in the Boston Newsletter February, 1717.
A schooner basically is a vessel with at least two masts and has fore-and aft rigging which means the sails are parallel to the centerline of the vessel rather than perpendicular.
